Australia is surrounded by coastline, and this coastline has some beautiful beaches. These beaches are visited year-round for swimming, fishing and boating activities. Australians and visitors to Australia gravitate towards Australian beaches for a day, week or longer of fun. Having grown up near a beach, Cronulla Beach in Sydney in fact, I learnt very quickly what to pack for a beach visit to ensure I had an enjoyable time. It’s the little things like the right towel or hat or sunscreen that really help you to enjoy your time in the sun and not end up like a lobster at the end of it. So without further ado, here are my suggestions of what to pack for an Australian beach holiday.
A beach holiday is all about a relaxed and casual wardrobe. What to pack for an Australian holiday at the beach will vary depending on what type of beach holiday you have. My suggested items are based on you staying at a hotel, house or apartment near your chosen beach. If you are camping, many suggested items will be suitable however, you will also need to pack your camping gear.
The type of luggage you need for your Australian beach holiday may depend on your mode of transport that is taking you to your beach holiday. Airlines have luggage limits, even cars may be limited depending on the number of people you are travelling with. As well as your luggage you will need a bag to carry all your items in for your day to day visits to the beach.
Suitcase, Beach Bag, messenger bag, Packing Cubes, Dry bag
Swimwear will be at the top of your list for clothing to pack for your holiday at the beach. Closely followed by cool and casual clothes.
Nice pants/slacks for evening
Thongs (flip flops)
Shoes for the evening
Athletic wear & shoes
Beach Accessories – if they fit in your luggage
Fold up chair
Fun and Games
Plastic cricket bat and ball, water balls, snorkel set, boogie board, surf board, book to read.
Shampoo & conditioner, face & body wash, Toothbrush & toothpaste, after sun lotion, deodorant, make up for going out, brush & comb.
There you have it, my suggestions of items to take on an Australian beach holiday that will help you to really enjoy your holiday. If you can think of anything else to add please mention them in the comments following.
